In addition to the Annual Symposium and Showcase events, CABIT has been involved with a wide range of industry and academic events. The following provides an overview of the types of activities we support:
HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) Meeting: The AZ HIMMS membership held their January 2008 meeting on the ASU campus and all participants were introduced to the concepts of Web 2.0 through discussions from Thornton May (a leading IT strategist), Julie Smith David (CABIT Director) and Ben Wilson (an leader of the Intel Digital Health Group).
Electronics Industry Data Exchange (EIDX) Presentations: For several years, CABIT Research Faculty have participated in the EIDX industry events, sharing their understanding of state-of-the-art research into B2B relationships. These sessions have resulted in a stronger industry-academic partnership, including CABIT participation on their Perfect Order team to develop an methodology for best practices in supply chain execution for the electronics industry.
Executive Education Opportunities: CABIT faculty members have provided executive education to Fortune 500 firms. For example, Haluk Demirkan delivered a state-of-the-art program on services oriented architecture and related design methodologies. Our faculty can work with organizations to craft educational experiences to address emerging issues with the highest quality materials and presenters.
Strategic Planning Sessions: CABIT faculty can facilitate critical, strategic planning sessions. This year, Julie Smith David lead a two-day strategy summit for the executive committee of the American Accounting Association to chart their course for delivering a collaboration platform for their members - with the goal of supporting 100% growth over the next seven years.
