Events

One of CABIT's strategic objectives is to build stronger bridges between academics and industry.  By hosting events, CABIT can meet this by bringing industry leaders to campus, facilitating intellectual discussions, and providing a platform for educational exchanges between students, faculty and professionals.

  • Annually we host an event that brings together the industry leaders in IT and the future of the industry - our students in Information Management.  SPARK 2009 is scheduled for October 2, 2009, and will feature CIO's (and other C-level executives and recent graduates who will meet with small groups of students to share their insights into the fantastic career opportunities in this area.  STUDENTS CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR SPARK!
  • Annually we host a premier event, our CABIT Symposium, attracting nationally-recognized industry leaders to explore an emerging area.  The Sixth Annual CABIT Symposium, Designing for Collaboration, was held April 23-24, 2009 at the Tempe Mission Palms.

This event will attract industry leaders who are interested in transforming their organization through the power of collaboration.  By focusing on how to design processes, systems, and experiences for collaboration, firms will be able to harness the power of their most valuable assets:  their employees, trading partners, customers - and others interested in helping them succeed. For more information, please click the link for the Symposium.

  • Our monthly Showcase Series brings industry and academic experts to ASU's campus to discuss the opportunities with Web 2.0, and have featured lively presentations from firms such as Warburg Realty, the American Accounting Association, CISCO, Kapow Technologies, and Secure Computing.
  • We have initiated a new workshop series: Privacy by Design Discussions which will be held monthly.
  • We partnered with the Health Sector Supply Chain Research Consortium to lead a 3-day workshop, over three months, to help firms in the health care supply chain to develop strategic plans to incorporate collaborative technologies into their organizations.  This was followed up with a 2-day custom program for another leading firm in this industry.  If you'd like to explore possibilities for your firm, please contact julie.smith.david@asu.edu
  • CABIT also hosts additional events to meet its members' needs.  We have hosted executive lectures, industry meetings, and student competitions -  and we are always looking for creative ways to collaborate with industry, faculty and students.
