President's Message
November 15, 2007 –
It's hard to believe that over a year has passed since our organization was founded. We've weathered some change that affected what we were able to accomplish in that time, but we still have lofty goals for the future. Some of the things you can expect to see in the next year: the official launch of our new student mentoring program, the introduction of a "career board" to advertise open positions posted by our members, and enhanced networking opportunities. We've been working with the School of Business and we are hoping that the next year will also bring an online, interactive community that will not only connect our members to each other, but also connect our members to other alums from the School of Business.
One of the objectives we set at the outset of our organization was to ensure that our leadership was constantly "refreshed" to encourage new ideas and maximized opportunities. As such, I am pleased to announce the transition of the presidency to Leslie Waggoner. Leslie is a 2005 graduate of the ASU SCM program as well as the ASU Finance program.
Leslie works at Intel in Chandler, AZ and is very active in the Phoenix-metro community. I know Leslie will help drive the future enhancements of this organization and help us reach new levels throughout the next year. Please join me in welcoming Leslie as the new President of the ASU SCM Alumni Council.
- Jami Coop, ASU SCM Alumni Council Immediate Past President
Thanks, Jami! I am thrilled to continue moving this organization in the direction it was chartered for. We have many goals and objects over the next year, as you stated, and I believe we will exceed expectations. I look forward to continuing work with the Executive Board and the W. P. Carey School of Business to keep alumni connected and spirited about their Alma Mater! Go Devils!
