Getting to Know Professional Leaders
Whether it be in your daily classes, information sessions, applied projects, panel discussions, or roundtables, supply chain students enjoy a rich abundance of opportunities to network and learn from professionals representing a broad range of responsibilities. While you will primarily meet CEOs, Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Directors you will also speak with mid-level managers, including recent graduates. Additionally, international professional organizations offer unique opportunities to further your education and provide arenas for self-marketing. We are particularly proud of our strong relationship with the following organizations:

CAPS: Center for Strategic Supply Research (formerly CAPS Research)
CAPS Research was established in November 1986 as the result of an affiliation agreement between the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University and the Institute for Supply Management®. It is located at the Arizona State University Research Park. CAPS contributes competitive advantage to organizations by delivering leading-edge research globally to support continuous change and breakthrough performance improvement in strategic sourcing and supply. Dr. Phillip Carter, one of our faculty, is the CAPS Executive Director and holder of the Harold E. Fearon Chair.

INSTITUTE FOR SUPPLY MANAGEMENT® (ISM)
The Institute for Supply Management is a non-profit international professional organization that provides national and international leadership in purchasing and supply management research and education. There are over 40,000 managerial level members internationally. All members have the opportunity of earning the prestigious certificates of Certified Purchasing Manager and/or Accredited Purchasing practitioner. ASU enjoys a rich partnership with ISM -- some of our students work for the organization part-time, acquire internships with ISM, and increase their professional network by joining the ISM Arizona Chapter. The professional Arizona chapter of ISM meets ten times a year in Phoenix to promote networking and education. In addition to the meeting speakers, time is devoted for members to communicate job openings and job search preferences. Membership fees are waived for W. P. Carey MBA Supply Chain students.

COUNCIL OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS (CSCMP)
The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals is a not-for-profit organization of business personnel throughout the world who are interested in improving their logistics management skills. CSCMP works in cooperation with private industry and various organizations to further the understanding and development of the logistics concept. This is accomplished by providing educational opportunities, organized activities, research, and meetings which foster professional dialogue and development within the profession. Additionally, the CSCMP offers an internship service which connects internship employers with internship candidates. Like ISM and CAPS: Center for Strategic Supply Research, the Council of Logistic Management publishes research papers and their own journal, Journal of Business Logistics.
