The Spirit of Enterpise Center - Testimonials
“I was thrilled, delighted and honored to be one of the winners for Spirit of Enterprise. My trophy sits proudly in my office and when I look at “overcoming adversity” inscribed on the trophy on hard days it inspires me to push that much harder.
Since the award I’ve been on a really neat journey that I had to share with you. After the luncheon several young entrepreneurs contacted me and I helped them as I could. One in particular, Jennifer Paige Boonlorn stood out. She is an honors graduate of the W. P. Carey School of Business and a graduate of Parson’s design. I imagine you’ve heard her name around, she is really something special. Her company is Soul Carrier.
Since meeting Jenn we’ve been working on her business. It has been such a delight that I’ve cleared out an upstairs room in my factory that we are affectionately calling “The Nest”. Jenn is using my factory after hours, my equipment and my team’s expertise as needed to build her company. She is growing into The Nest and then my goal will be to guide her until she can fly out of it into a place of her own.
Building my company has been one of the greatest joys of my life and getting to share in the journeys of others infuses me, my staff and my whole building with energy, joy and determination.
Thank you for bringing me another wonderful gift Gary!"

2012 Spirit of Enterprise Overcoming Adversity Award
I BELIEVE in Spirit for so many reasons! Beth Walker has been taking me for several years and last year I had the privilege of meeting Jane Spicer of Daphne's Headcovers. She has since become my mentor and the company behind the production of my Soul Carrier handbags. Meeting her was LIFE CHANGING. You are creating magical synergy through this awards ceremony.

“Sundt is proud to have been recognized as the 2008 Spirit of Enterprise Entrepreneurial Leadership Award winner. There are several reasons why we cherish this recognition. First, the process was a rigorous one and the competition was excellent. That kind of a process adds value in our eyes and makes the recognition more meaningful. Secondly, we have a great deal of respect for the W.P Carey School and Arizona State University in general. Again, recognition from this institution is something that we think adds value to Sundt and builds upon our most precious asset, our reputation. Finally, we gained some insight about ourselves through the process. We applied for the entrepreneurial award which is unique in that we are a 119 year old employee owned company. We learned that even in this kind of an ownership structure the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well at Sundt. As in many things we would encourage other companies to go through this process as you may just learn something about yourself and gain some recognition in the process."

2008 Spirit of Enterprise Entrepreneurial Leadership Award
“From beginning to end, I found the Spirit process to be compelling, engaging and uplifting. For our company there is a sense of pride that continues to permeate the organization. My friends, business associates and new acquaintances continue to talk about it 6 months later. I must say it has been a life altering experience. I look forward to seeing who this year’s nominees and winners will be.”
