JPMorgan Chase Economic Outlook Center

The JPMorgan Chase Economic Outlook Center was established in 1986 as the economic forecasting unit of the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. It is founded upon the premise that individuals and corporations make better decisions if they are well-informed as to the likely course of business and economic events. Because most individuals and many corporations lack the financial and human resources to engage in sophisticated statistical modeling and computer-based planning, the JPMorgan Chase Economic Outlook Center provides these forecasts as a public service.

Economy@W. P. Carey is a portal to data and analysis from economists at the W. P. Carey School of Business and their colleagues in the private sector, government agencies and universities across the West. Its offerings include the following:

  • The Western Blue Chip Economic Forecast and the Greater Phoenix Blue Chip provide consensus projections from leading economists about conditions in the twelve Western states and in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Forecasts are compiled by website editor Lee McPheters, research professor of economics in the W. P. Carey School of Business, who has studied the Western region for over two decades.
  • The Job Growth Update provides current information about job creation in cities and states.
  • Real estate reports include the ASU Repeat Sales Index and the Housing Market Report providing history and analysis of the greater Phoenix real estate market.
