Welcome to the Division of Real Estate at the W. P. Carey School of Business
Please accept my warmest welcome as you explore the opportunities in real estate education and knowledge creation here in the W. P. Carey School of Business. In just a short time since conception, we now offer substantial opportunities in real estate to students, prospective faculty and friends of the Division of Real Estate and the Department of Finance. Please enjoy your virtual tour.
The real estate initiative in the W. P. Carey School of Business is a blueprint for intellectual excellence, prosperous enterprises, quality of life and sustainable communities. The knowledge gained from our academic programs and research will reap benefits that are as diverse as the Sonoran desert landscape and will create a legacy for those who build its future.
The finance department, one of the leading research and teaching departments in the world, houses faculty and programs in real estate. I am personally excited about, and proud of, the accomplishments of our faculty and students. In this website you will have access to the research of our faculty. I invite you to examine past faculty research as well as the very active research agenda in progress that has resulted in our department being ranked among the top 20 in the world.
Our faculty members are dedicated to providing a quality educational experience to students at all levels. The finance undergraduate program is one of the largest majors at the W. P. Carey School and is also among the most selective. For students pursuing graduate study, financial management and markets and real estate finance are both specializations within the flagship full-time MBA. In our Ph.D. program, students work closely with our distinguished faculty from the time they enter the program through their dissertations. Recent placements of our doctoral graduates include major research departments across the country.
The department of finance is also very much engaged with the business community. Our advisory board, comprised of senior executives in financial and non-financial business firms, helps us to ensure that our curriculum is informed by the most current business needs and practices to complement the cutting-edge research conducted by our faculty. Clearly, we believe that the partnership between our department and the business community is a key element to the strength of our programs.
The new Center for Real Estate Theory & Practice will serve as the primary focal point for interaction with the real estate community. It will give students, faculty, and companies alike the opportunity to explore this field together.
Thank you for your interest in the department of finance at the W. P. Carey School of Business. For additional information, please contact us at wpcareyfin@asu.edu.
