Financial Assistance
Arizona State University and the W. P. Carey School of Business provide doctoral students each year with competitive financial assistance. Teaching or research assistantships are available to qualified students. These assistantships not only serve as financial support but offer students the opportunity to interact with faculty and work with them in their research activities. Assistantships offer doctoral students the opportunity to participate in original research and to gain recognition for their work through coauthorship of publications. We typically offer the following financial aid package:
- A graduate associate stipend of $18,000 per academic year (9 months) for four to five years.
- An opportunity to teach at least one 5-week session (two courses) during each summer session and earn an additional $4,000 (so a total of $22,000 provided to you each year).
- Full tuition remission.
- Student health insurance.
The application for an assistantships (teaching and/or research) should be submitted to the Division of Graduate Studies (DGS) office along with all required admission materials. Loans and other forms of financial support may be available; students who are seeking additional funding opportunities must file a FAFSA form to determine one’s eligibility. For further information regarding financial assistance, please contact the ASU Division of Graduate Studies office at (480) 965-3521.
