Amy Ou - "I did not expect to have a buddy mechanism before I came to ASU; however, it turned out to be an incomparable plus to me! My officemate is my buddy; we share a lot and I learn most of my necessary tacit knowledge and research related skills from her. In fact, we recently have two papers accepted by AOM.
I can not say how lucky I am to be in such a wonderful community, where I can feel free to ask for help from whomever and anytime I want. I expect that the department will continue to build on the sense of community and the helping culture, so that any big brother and sister will naturally become handy and welcome helpmates to all new comers.
By all means, as a new Ph.D. student, I feel cared for and supported."

Congratulations to our four most recent graduates on their new Assistant Professor positions! Beginning in the fall of 2009, Carla Jones will be joining the faculty at the University of Houston, Atira Charles will be starting at Florida State University, Spencer Harrison will be beginning at Boston College, and Sushil Nifadkar will be starting at University of Calgary.
