Community

The W. P. Carey Professional MBA provides a highly interactive and engaging learning environment. From the beginning of the Weekend program, you are encouraged to interact with your peers to build professional relationships that can form into lifelong friendships.

Building a strong support network allows you to:

  • Share experiences and resources
  • Build new relationships
  • Form valuable professional networks
  • Work effectively in teams

You will continually be challenged with team projects that draw upon the knowledge and skills of you and your fellow students, whether you’re across the aisle in a classroom or you’re across the country working together online. U.S. News & World Report ranks W. P. Carey among the top programs in the country in technology for online students, meaning you will interact seamlessly through team discussion forums, voice- or text-based chat sessions and e-mail.

This team-oriented aspect of the curriculum prepares you to work effectively in decision-making management and executive groups. The program staff carefully constructs teams to include a wide-ranging set of professional and personal experiences.

For example, a typical team might consist of a senior auditor, a large retail floor manager, a Fortune 500 project manager, an airline pilot, a chemical engineer and a mid-level bank executive. This diversity exposes you to new perspectives and approaches to issues, much more so than a self-formed group of students working in the same industry or function.

Beyond Graduation

Your relationship with the school continues far beyond the moment you graduate. In addition to the friendships and connections you have made with fellow students, you are entitled to all the benefits and services offered by our active alumni community. When you graduate, you will have access to the full suite of alumni resources, including the graduate alumni directory, networking events and alumni career support.
