Format
ASU's online MBA program uses a 23-month, focused format consisting of 12-13 courses. You take one course at a time. Each course is six weeks long, taken consecutively with one-week breaks in between courses. In addition, multi-week breaks after every third course allow for winter and summer holidays. Throughout the program, you learn with an assigned cohort of peers, fellow students you continually interact with throughout your coursework.
This curriculum provides you with management fundamentals—time-proven business knowledge and managerial decision-making tools that will enable you to be a more capable leader in the global marketplace. When you have completed the online MBA degree program, you will be better able to:
- Make informed decisions
- Approach the world from a managerial perspective
- Appreciate the impact that decisions have on multiple dimensions of performance, internal and external to the organization
- Understand how to reinvigorate organizations for long-term survival
Completing an MBA Course Online
Each six-week course consists of five modules that you access with your Web browser. You spend the first five weeks completing one module each week. Then, during the sixth week of each course, you complete an online final examination or project.
Completing a weekly module means more than just studying and interacting with online course content. You also read assigned textbook and supplemental readings, participate in required online interactive exercises and complete an online quiz. Although module assignments are due each week, you can work on them wherever and whenever you choose.
Cohort Model
Learn with your peers. The online MBA program realizes the effectiveness of students learning together. Students in each cohort not only progress through the program together, they also begin and end each six-week course in unison. For each course, a set of weekly interactive exercises, completed either individually or in teams, facilitate shared learning.
Area of Emphasis
You have the option of adding an area of emphasis in supply chain management in your second year by substituting supply chain courses for the three required general management courses. Additional areas of emphasis are planned.
Transformative Experience
Students who successfully complete the online MBA program will find themselves transformed. Irrespective of background, students will become more informed leaders equipped with the knowledge to make effective decisions in the complex, dynamic business environment of the 21st century. Furthermore, the experience you gain by learning in geographically distributed teams will prepare you for today's physically dispersed business organizations and partner networks.
