Scholarships
The W. P. Carey MBA – Full-time Program offers several sources of financial assistance, such as scholarships and graduate assistantships. They include a variety of prestigious named awards funded by corporations and individuals.
Once you are admitted, you are automatically considered for scholarships and graduate assistantships. They are awarded to high-potential applicants with superior academic achievement and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
All scholarships are awarded at the time an admissions decision is made. Details are provided with your letter of admission.
The amount of a scholarship award depends on the competitiveness of the applicant compared with the admitted applicant pool. These scholarships are cash awards applied to your account. Scholarships are usually renewed each year, based on your meeting specified criteria.
Scholarship Consideration
Applicants are considered for scholarships at the time of the admission decision. Merit-based scholarships may include graduate assistantships providing tuition reductions and stipends or scholarship money applied to your student account. Notification of scholarship decisions will be included in offers of admission.
Applications completed by earlier deadlines receive priority consideration for the limited scholarships available. Application by the first deadline is recommended. Applicants later in the cycle may be considered for scholarships as available.
Graduate Assistantships
A graduate assistantship provides a stipend, waives non-resident tuition and requires the recipient to work for a W. P. Carey School of Business academic unit or research center approximately 10 hours a week during the academic year. Only a limited number of assistantships are available each year.
Academic departments typically hire graduate assistants as teaching assistants for undergraduate courses. Some W. P. Carey research centers also hire graduate assistants to work with faculty members on research projects. Other staff departments such as MBA Admissions, the Graduate Career Management Center and Student Services sometimes use graduate assistants to help with support activities for current and prospective students.
Offers of merit-based scholarships or graduate assistantships will be provided with your letter of admission.
