International StudentsThe W. P. Carey Full-time MBA is composed of a diverse student body that represents a number of different countries. International students make up 30 percent of our Fall 2011 entering class. The team environment fostered by the school provides the opportunity for international students to develop friendships and mentors early in the program. International Student OrientationInternational Student Orientation is held at the beginning of the program to help you get situated in your new environment. We provide information to help you with such essentials as setting up a bank account, obtaining a driver's license and learning American etiquette. We also prepare you for learning in an American university environment. Orientation is mandatory for all international students. American Business CommunicationsThe American Business Communications course provides international students with instruction in accent reduction and common U.S. business idioms and practices. American students deliver weekly presentations on different aspects of U.S. culture, from sports to slang. The classes also provide you with communication skills and etiquette techniques that are important in the American business world. This program, launched five years ago, is unique to the W. P. Carey MBA program. International MBA AssociationThe International MBA Association hosts a number of events aimed at bringing international students together throughout the year. Past events have included cricket matches, the annual international fashion show and various holiday gatherings. Participation in the association and other campus organizations outside the MBA program provide opportunities for you to be involved outside the classroom. International Cultural ExchangeThe International MBA Association also hosts a series of International Cultural Exchange presentations. During these presentations, international students share the cultural and business customs of their countries. This information helps students learn more about doing business in countries around the world. Admissions Information for International StudentsDuring the admissions process, stay up to date on your application status.
