What do you think sets the W. P. Carey School apart from other good supply chain programs?

What sets ASU apart from other top supply chain schools is the area of development of new knowledge. What I enjoyed is that the professors that I studied under weren't just pontificating on other people's theories; they were bringing their own theories to class. So we got to read a lot of current research and work with that... the development of new knowledge here at the W. P. Carey School sets the school apart.

What did you think of the quality of classes and group discussions?

What I really enjoyed was the interaction that you had not only with the professor who was teaching the material, but the interaction that you had with different students and the viewpoints that you would get from the broad range of experience that the students bring to the program.

The class sizes are manageable; I never felt I had a problem expressing my viewpoints or engaging in a dialog that helped me with learning and fleshing out my own ideas, as I went through a process of self-discovery and learning.

What was your internship experience like?

I interned at Dell and it was a phenomenal experience. I was not given a "fluff" project; I was given a project that (management) really wanted an answer to, and wanted significant work done on. In my internship project I was able to make several recommendations that Dell implemented over the next term, while I was a second-year MBA student. I came back to manage those implementations full-time, and now I manage the group of which that project is a subset. It was great to see the projects that I worked on as an intern come to fruition and have real savings and real costs benefits for the company.

How does your education compare to the top ten business schools?

I remember the first day of my internship experience at Dell. I came in and all of the MBA interns - there were around 100 of us - stood up and introduced themselves and what school they were from. Very quickly, I realized that I was in the company of very elite schools, all the schools that you can imagine a company like Dell would recruit at. As I progressed through the summer and I worked closely with them on several projects, I realized that the W. P. Carey MBA program had prepared me just as well, if not better, in some areas than those top schools.
