W. P. Carey Leadership Academy

The W. P. Carey Leadership Academy is designed for students interested in further developing their leadership potential. You and your fellow students will experience this dynamic leadership journey together as a team, making it that much more powerful and engaging.

Over the 15 months of the extended elective (3 credits), the Leadership Academy gives you the opportunity to:

• Participate in a series of face-to-face or online workshops focused on various leadership components; select seven of the 11 workshops offered that best support your goals
• Analyze your progress toward goals established in your original competency assessments through 360-degree feedback
• Engage in workshops exploring persuasion and influence, ethical leadership, decision making, toxic leadership, and leading diverse teams
• Network with leading faculty members in friendly, personal settings
• Receive feedback from your peer coach on your skill development

As outlined above, the W. P. Carey Leadership Academy offers you a unique opportunity to capitalize on a wealth of resources from networking to team-building to workshops. Between your initial assessment and final review of your goals, you will not only take part in workshops and courses, but you will also have the flexibility to delve into electives and your area of emphasis.
