MBA/Master of Engineering

Students in the Evening Program can further expand their technical proficiency through a concurrent degree in conjunction with the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Engineering (MEng) new window concurrent degree incorporates a specialization in one of four areas:

The concurrent degree program allows you to earn two degrees in a shorter period of time than if you pursued them separately. If taken concurrently with any of the MEng specializations, the program requires 60 credit hours of study. Since 48 credit hours are required to complete the MBA and three additional credit hours are required to complete the technical certificate, you only need to complete nine additional credit hours to earn the MEng. You can complete the nine additional credit hours (three classes) any time after you graduate from the MBA program. Most complete these classes the following summer or fall semester. The additional cost of nine credit hours is approximately $6,500.

Special Application and Program Notes

  • If you are considering pursuing the concurrent degree, you should decide during the application process.
  • When submitting the online application to the concurrent degree, select Dual Degree - W. P. Carey MBA/MEng.
  • You must meet the admission requirements of the W. P. Carey MBA program and the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering MEng program.
  • The MEng program requires that you posses a Bachelor of Science degree (preferably in engineering or mathematics) and relevant work experience.
  • You should be sure to address both programs of study in all required essays.
  • Admission decisions for the program are made independently by the MBA Admissions office and the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. Acceptance to the MBA program does not guarantee acceptance to the MEng program. You must be admitted separately to each program to pursue the concurrent degree.
  • The MBA/MEng concurrent degree is an option over and above four technical certificates also offered through the Evening Program.
  • The two degrees must be earned concurrently. If you already have been awarded one degree you cannot count any of those credit hours toward a second degree.
  • The ability to pursue the MBA/MEng is not currently available to students of the W. P. Care MBA – Evening Accelerated Program.
