ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business Hosts MBA Shanghai Students
Another link in the bond between Arizona and the People's Republic of China will be forged on October 2 when the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University hosts 35 senior Chinese government officials and executives from major state-owned enterprises.

Top Ranked Real Estate Faculty Member to Join W. P. Carey School of Business
The W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University announced today that one of the top ranked real estate finance faculty in the country will join the school. Dr. Crocker H. Liu, the single most cited author on the subject of real estate finance investments, has been named Professor of Finance and McCord Chair of Real Estate. Before joining the W. P. Carey School, Dr. Liu was Associate Professor of Finance and Real Estate at New York University's Stern School of Business.

W. P. Carey MBA Shanghai Graduates First Class of Business and Government Leaders
An elite group of top-level executives and government leaders will mark a historic moment in Shanghai on June 4 when the class of 2005 graduates from the groundbreaking W. P. Carey MBA Shanghai. The class of 64 high-level business and government leaders will emerge from the two-year program and continue critical leadership roles as China increases its position in world markets.

ASU sets up Economic Club of Shanghai
The Economic Club of Phoenix is a mainstay on the networking circuit for business and community leaders in Arizona. Arizona State University's business school, which has operated the club for nearly 20 years, hopes to achieve the same prominence in China. As a companion to its relatively new Executive MBA program in Shanghai, the W.P. Carey School of Business created the Economic Club of Shanghai. It was announced a year ago in China, but the marketing has only recently started in earnest.

Edward C. Prescott Awarded 2004 Nobel Prize in Economics
Edward C. Prescott, the W. P. Carey Chair of Economics in the W. P. Carey School of Business and a senior monetary advisor at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, has been awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in economic sciences, the first-ever Nobel Prize received by an Arizona State University scholar. Prescott was lauded for a lifetime of original thinking that has addressed some of the most important long-standing questions in macroeconomics. He shares the prize with Finn Kydland of Carnegie-Mellon University.

Dean Mittelstaedt meets with Shanghai and Beijing students
Robert Mittelstaedt is off to a fast-paced start as the new dean of the W. P. Carey School. His first full day was June 29, and since then he has presided over a strategic retreat with his administrative team and has met with President Crow, Provost Glick and other ASU deans as well as key leaders within the school.
