Program overview

Develop your critical thinking about real estate development. In the Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) program, you’ll learn side-by-side with peers from various backgrounds, deepening your understanding of the development process.

The development process involves all disciplines represented by MRED program partners: The W. P. Carey School of Business, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law, the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, and the Del E. Webb School of Construction. Leading faculty members from each institution are selected to deliver this unique curriculum, and small class sizes provide opportunities for individual attention and interaction.

Certified Commercial Investment Member designation

The MRED curriculum has been approved by CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) for their Fast Track University Program. The CCIM designation is not required, but CCIMs have been recognized as leading experts in commercial investment real estate. The CCIM designation represents proven expertise in financial, market, and investment analysis, in addition to negotiation. Although not required, the CCIM designation is perceived as highly valuable in the commercial real estate industry.

Curriculum

The W. P. Carey MRED is an Intensive, transdisciplinary nine-month program taught by industry experts with current real estate development experience — giving you unmatched exposure to how development works in the real world. Over the course of the program, you’ll build the necessary skills to implement and manage the design and development process.
