John Eaton received the Huizingh Award for Undergraduate Service to Students at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards event held on April 17, 2013, for outstanding leadership and service to undergraduate students. In addition to being an outstanding teacher, Dr. Eaton serves as Honors Thesis chair and mentor to many honors students each year. Dr. Eaton is the faculty advisor to the ASU Chapter of the American Marketing Association and to the Sports Business Association student club, two of the Marketing Department's largest student organizations.
Jonathan Ketcham received the 2013 ASU Faculty Excellence Award - Cutting Edge Research: Professional Application category at the university Faculty Excellence Awards event on April 16, 2013, presented by President Crow and Provost Phillips. This award celebrates top intellectual contributions by ASU faculty in the academic disciplines.
Andrea Morales received the Outstanding Doctoral Faculty Award at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards event held on April 17, 2013. Dr. Morales teaches in the Marketing Department's doctoral program, mentors the doctoral students, and serves on doctoral committees.
Vincent Blasko was inducted into the W.P. Carey Faculty Hall of Fame. Dr. Blasko joined the Marketing Department in 1980, teaching the department's undergraduate marketing and advertising courses, and receiving many awards for his outstanding teaching. Dr. Blasko retired in July 2012.
Andrea Morales is the recipient of the Erin Anderson Award, one of the most prestigious awards in the marketing discipline. She will be presented with this award at the February 2013 American Marketing Association Winter Educator's Conference. The Erin Anderson Award recognizes a female marketing professor who has made significant contributions to marketing research and in mentoring doctoral students and junior faculty members.
Beth Walker, Michael Hutt, Ruth Bolton, and Crina Tarasi received the 2012 Harold Maynard Award for the paper they co-authored, "Balancing Risk and Return in A Customer Portfolio", Journal of Marketing, May 2011 issue. Beth Walker is the W. P. Carey Marketing Department Chair and A T & T Professor of Services Marketing and Management; Michael Hutt is the Ford Motor Company Professor of Marketing; Ruth Bolton is Professor of Marketing; and Crina Tarasi is a PhD graduate of the W. P. Carey Department of Marketing and assistant professor of marketing at Central Michigan University. The Maynard Award recognizes the Journal of Marketing article that makes the most significant contribution to marketing theory and thought within the calendar year. They will be presented with the award at the 2012 Summer American Marketing Association Conference in August.
Mary Jo Bitner has been appointed the Editor-Elect for the Journal of Services Research effective June 1, 2013. Professor Bitner will provide leadership and guidance to this highly-regarded marketing discipline journal.
Amy Ostrom, President's Professor and J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation Professor in Services Leadership, received the Outstanding Undergraduate Service Award at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards Event held on April 23, 2012. She teaches Honors Marketing Theory and Practice as well as Services Marketing Strategy, is the advisor to the Honors Marketing Advisory Board and is currently serving as chair of the Undergraduate Committee for the school.
James Ward received the Outstanding MBA Professor award at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards Event held on April 23, 2012. Dr. Ward teaches in multiple platforms in the MBA Program, in addition to serving as the Faculty Director for the Full Time MBA program and the Specialization Coordinator for the Strategic Marketing and Services Leadership specialization.
Naomi Mandel, State Farm Professor of Marketing, received the Outstanding Doctoral Professor award at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards Event held on April 23, 2012. Dr. Mandel teaches two doctoral seminars and also serves as the coordinator of the Ph.D. program for the Marketing Department.
Andrea Morales received the Faculty Research Award at the WPC Faculty and Student Recognition and Awards Event held on April 23, 2012. Dr. Morales' work has been published repeatedly in the three leading marketing journals, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Marketing, along with other top journals. As the result of her many research contributions, Andrea received the coveted Marketing Science Institute's Young Scholars Award (2007), and more recently, the Society of Consumer Psychology Early Career Contribution Award (2011).
Donald W. Jackson, Jr. and Stephen Brown, were inducted into the W. P. Carey Faculty Hall of Fame. The Faculty Hall of Fame was established in 1977 to recognize retired and semi-retired faculty members who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of business education and the W. P. Carey School.
Dr. Donald W. Jackson, Jr. joined ASU in 1972 after earning his Ph.D. in Marketing from Michigan State University. In addition to his faculty duties at ASU, Dr. Jackson served as Director of Research, Director, MBA for Executives Program, and Associate Dean. Dr. Jackson retired in May 2011.
Dr. Stephen Brown earned his Bachelor's, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees at ASU. He began his academic career at Louisiana State University, returning to ASU in 1974 and establishing himself as a thought leader in the field of services marketing. In 1985, Dr. Brown became the first director of the newly created Center for Services Leadership. He served in that position until his retirement in May 2011.
Professor Andrea Morales is the recipient of The Victoria Foundation, Dr. Eugene Garcia Outstanding Latina Faculty in Research in Higher Education Award for 2011. The Victoria Foundation recognized outstanding individuals whose body of work has helped to advance Arizona's Latino community in the realm of higher education at the awards event on September 15, 2011.
Professor Rajiv Sinha continues his innovative research on "green accounting" and was recognized in the September 2011 edition of Business Because for the development of an alternative measure of India's GDP statistics that factor in environmental costs and promoting sustainable development in India.
Professor John Eaton and the student chapter of the American Marketing Association received the 2011 ASU Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) Hall of Fame Award as the "Outstanding Undergraduate Organization".
