Loaner Equipment

Students have loaner equipment available to them for certain situations. This equipment may be laptops, power cords, optical drives or other equipment. Equipment may be loaned out for the following situations:

  • While hardware service is being performed
  • While replacement equipment is being shipped from manufacturer
  • While extensive troubleshooting is being performed

Loaner Laptop

A loaner laptop will likely not be the same model as the student's machine. The laptop will have different CPU speed, different memory and different hard drive. Your computers accessories may or may not work with the loaner laptop.

The student is responsible for his or her data. This means all data must be backed up before the student's laptop is turned in for service. GBIT will assist the student in copying school related files to and from the loaner laptop.


Loaner Accessories

Students can check out the following accessories from the Help Desk by providing a photo ID as collateral:  network ethernet cable, computer mouse or extension cord. Checked out accessories must be returned to the Help Desk before closing at 10:30 p.m. Collateral is returned when the accessory is brought back to the Help Desk.
