What billing address should I provide for the W. P. Carey Dell website?
The text on the W. P. Carey Dell website says I should use the address on file with Dell. This is very confusing. The graphic shows a copy of the text on the Dell website.
IGNORE THIS TEXT. Students should enter the correct billing address of the credit card being used to purchase the laptop. Dell reported the text on the website cannot be removed because it is part of a system generated template.

I'm not sure my laptop order on the W. P. Carey Dell website is complete? I received a Purchase ID number but I have not received a confirmation e-mail and my credit card has not been charged.
Dell does not charge the credit card for the laptop cost until the order ships. Order shipment may take a few days so credit card charges may not be a quality indicator of order processing. Unfortunately this limbo order status situation cannot be resolved by Dell phone sales support. The Dell phone sales team are unable to view or retrieve these hung orders. Students experiencing this order problem should contact Mike Merrill who is the ASU Dell Account Executive. Mike can resolve purchasing problem. I own a Mac or want to use a Mac, will it work in the program?
Mac computers can access ASU internet and connect to MBA printers. Microsoft does provide Office 2008 for the Mac. This can create and modify all major application files for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Although Office 2008 for Mac is compatible with document formats, it is not able to run various plug-in and components required. There are certain class that Mac users will have to access Microsoft Windows. Mac users can easily access a Windows configuration with Office through a School of Business web hosted environment. Students can receive help to configure Windows on the Mac laptop either using BootCamp or a virtual application.

Do I have to purchase the Dell laptop through http://www.dell.com/wpcarey?
Individuals may have additional discounts or resources that provide justifiable incentive to purchase a specified Dell laptop through a different method or channel. Students are strongly encouraged to compare all aspects of the laptop configuration before considering purchasing through an alternative method. Hardware specifications are not the only considerations that make up the specified Dell laptop configuration. Multiple year warranty with Complete Care and next business day onsite service are included in the ASU configuration.

What technical support will I receive as a participant in the laptop program?
The Graduate Help Desk will work to ensure that student laptops functions correctly. If problems occur, diagnostic will determine if problems are hardware or software. If the problem is determined to be a hardware malfunction, the student will receive a "loaner laptop" while their laptop is sent to an authorized service center. If the problem is determined to be software or configuration, the student can be reimaged using a partial restore configuration. Students are responsible for backing up their own data, as the technical support staff will not assume responsibility for deleted data.

How is the computer configured for courses I will be taking?
Computers are shipped to the School of Business directly from the vendor to receive the base software configuration. Additional software needed for classes will be available to students when classes begin. Depending on the software and arrangements with faculty, additional software may be distributed by Citrix, by installation on laptop, or through lab machines.

What software will be installed on my laptop?
Student laptops will be configured with access to Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access, Project, and Visio. Student can request Visual Studio. These programs can be installed on the local laptop or accessed online. Additional research software including SAS, SPSS, Palisades is also available in a School of Business web hosted environment.
