11/12/02
The latest Research Insight data has been placed on the K:
drive. The update provides data through October 2002. 10/30/02
The latest Execucomp dataset has be placed on the network at S:\execucomp.
09/18/02 The CRSP data is now
available as a single large SAS dataset at N:\SAS
. The daily data in is the da.sas7bdat file. Note: Be sure to
only extract those companies/variables/dates you need. The
file is around 15 gigabytes and simply performing a set
statement on it will result in a very large work file.
08/20/02 WRDS is now available.

an account. 08/20/02 Citrix
accounts are now available for research use for faculty,
staff, and PhD students. For more information on what Citrix

08/19/02 Central IT is
transitioning the Unix servers to SSH. For details on the

07/26/02 The Research Insigh data
was updated to the latest release.
07/03/02 The latest release of
the CRSP Mutual Fund data has arrived and been placed in the N:\mutalfunds
folder. 06/10/03 Version 7
of Eventus has arrived and been installed into the current
network version of SAS. If you encounter any problems, contact

The CRSP data is now available in SAS format on the N: drive
in the N:\SAS folder. 05/14/02
The latest CRSP data release has arrived. The CRSP data has
been updated on the W. P. Carey School of Business network and the
Central IT servers.
04/08/02 A new release of the
CRSP Mutual Fund data has arrived and is available on the N:
drive.
04/04/02 The latest version of
TSPrint has been deployed. The next time you click the TSPrint
icon, the new version will load. 03/18/02
The Research Insight data has been updated. Data is now
available through Feb 2002.
02/15/02 The December 2001
release of the CRSP daily data has just arrived and is now
available on the N: drive and on the Unix servers.
02/07/02 A new SAS tip has been
posted on how to remotely access files on your PC from within
a SAS program running on the Unix stats server. The link can
be accessed below under the Tips section. 01/29/02
There is problem with the Unix Stats server and SAS 8.2 that
is not permitting symbolic links to work properly. If you
attempt to access the Compustat SAS dataset and receive a
message in you log that the dataset is corrupt, change the
path for the library where the datasets reside to: /afs/asu.edu/bus/compustat1998/sas If
after doing this, you continue to get an error in your log
file, immediately contact scott.thompson@asu.edu
01/07/02 The CRSP Mutual Funds
data has been updated. It can be accessed at N:\mutualfunds.
12/12/01 The Research Insight
data has been updated. It now covers up to November 2001.
11/20/01 There is a test SAS
version of the current CRSP dataset available at K\tmpdat. The
core data and returns are in the "da" dataset with

10/05/01 Compustat has
re-released the Annual Data in line with a change in their
release schedule. It has been updated and can be accessed on
the local network at K:\SAS Data and on the Unix servers.
09/20/01 The new release of the
CRSP Mutual Funds data has been placed on the local network at

09/07/01 The data for Research
Insight has been updated.
09/04/01 A new release of the
Execucomp Executive Compensation database has been released. A
copy of it has been made available on the local network at S:\execucomp\exec062001.mdb 08/31/01
The Conjoint module has been added to the network SPSS
license. For information on the Conjoint module, click here. 08/24/01
The Compustat Annual Data (aka the tape data) has been
updated. 08/14/01
The network installation of SAS has been updated to version
8.02 aka 8.2. For information what is new in SAS 8.2, click here.
In addition, Eviews 4 has been deployed. The next time users
click on the Eviews 3.1 shortcut on their systems, the
shortcut will be updated and Eviews 4 will be started. For
information on what is new in Eviews 4, click here.
06/07/01 SDC Platinum has been
updated from version 2.1 to 2.2. The next time the shortcut to
SDC is clicked, it will check the files on your system to
confirm that they are up to date. Click OK on each dialog and
then restart SDC. Login initials remain the same as they were
under version 2.1.

Research Computing FAQ is now available. Click on the link
above to access it.
03/13/01 The data for Research
Insight 7.6 has been updated. It now extends through Feb 2001.
02/15/01 The CRSP Daily Stock
Data has been updated on both the W. P. Carey School of Business N: drive
and on the ASU mainframes. The data now extends through
December 2000. 01/23/01 The
CRSP Mutual Fund Data has been updated. The data now extends
through September 2000. It is available on the W. P. Carey School of
Business network at N:\mutualfunds.
12/06/00 The data for Research
Insight 7.6 has been updated. RI 7.6 now offers data through
November 2000. 11/27/00 The
CRSP utilities, Fortran libraries, and C libraries have been
updated on the general, research, and stats servers. This did
not involve a data update.
11/01/00 Upgrades to SPSS and
Research Insight are now being deployed for research users.

The Research Insight K: drive data is in the process of being
moved to a larger and faster server. The process will be
transparent to research users and will reduce the time needed
to perform large data pulls from Research Insight. 10/20/00
Links to the electronic version of the Eventus manual are now
available on the Eventus page linked above.
