Bachelors of Science in Computer Information Systems

The goal of the undergraduate Computer Information Systems program is to prepare students for successful careers and to serve the information systems and business communities.  The Department of Information Systems recognizes that graduates need technical knowledge, practical skills and the ability to function in local, national and global business environments.  It is dedicated to the dissemination of new knowledge and to providing service through activities that facilitate professional growth and interaction within the business community.

Computer Information Systems involves the design, development and maintenance of information systems that support both business operations and managerial decision-making.  Students learn the fundamentals of software application development, database administration and network deployment.  Special emphasis is placed on business process workflows, systems integration and project management.  The focus throughout the program is on using information technology to add value to business and organizations.
