| This computer-based standardized test serves as a uniform standard of measurement for applicants. It is non-business specific and tests one's verbal, quantitative and analytical reasoning skills. The GRE is given entirely in English, and all instructions are provided in English. All applicants to the Ph.D. in Economics are required to take the GRE. The GMAT is not accepted. The GRE must have been completed within five years before the date the application is reviewed by the college. If attempting to meet the January deadline, one should take the test no later than two weeks prior to the deadline. The official GRE score must be forwarded to ASU by the Educational Testing Service. It takes two weeks for the institution to receive the official test scores. GRE scores are valid for five years. |
Retaking the GRE
Should you decide to retake or are requested to retake the GRE, please notify the Department of Economics in writing of your intended test date. Your highest test score will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review. Upon an applicant's written request, an application will be re-evaluated based on new GRE scores.
