Cross Cultural Dynamics: Leading through Diversity

Successfully business leaders share the common challenge of overcoming geographic and cultural distances while building and leading agile multi- cultural teams. While advancements in technology and communications has indeed made this easier, there still exists formidable cultural barriers that continue to challenge leaders, even those with proven track records within their own cultural contexts. This workshop on Cross-Cultural Dynamics will combine participants’ experiences with theoretical frameworks and models in an interactive learning environment to reach the following objectives.

Objectives

  • Understand the dynamics, opportunities and challenges in cross- cultural situations
  • Recognize personal strengths and areas for improvement in cultural intelligence
  • Identify strategies to successfully lead multi-cultural teams

Faculty

Dr. Minu Ipe is a Clinical Associate Professor with the Management department. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. and an M.A. from universities in India. Her research interests include leadership development and cultural issues in international business. Dr. Ipe’s primary area of focus is developing leaders at different levels in organizations. Her experience in this area includes developing programs for leaders in business and educational organizations and delivering courses, workshops, and presentations in multi- cultural contexts. She has interacted extensively with both private and public sector organizations over the years and her work has been published in journal articles, conference proceedings, book chapters and technical reports. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Ipe held roles with multinational organizations in the area of SAP consulting, program development for corporate education and Human Resource Development.

Registration Procedures and Deadlines

Registration and payment is due by April 15, 2015.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation request received at least one week prior to the program will be refunded in full minus a 10% cancellation fee.

A cancellation request received less than one week prior to the start of the program will have the option to apply registration to a 2015 course.

A cancellation request received on or after the day of the program will not be eligible for a refund.
