Arizona State University offers a full range of scholarships and student loans through the Graduate College . In addition, the W. P. Carey Department of Economics has teaching or research assistantships available on a competitive basis to qualified Ph.D. students. These assistantships afford you the opportunity to work with faculty in their research and teaching activities, often including participation in original research that could lead to recognition for your work through co-authorship of publications.
Ph.D. students may receive as much as $19,000 for the academic year. Additional summer stipends are available for students who maintain satisfactory status. All assistantships include out-of-state tuition waivers and presently also cover in-state registration fees. If you are interested in an assistantship, indicate your intention on your application forms. Satisfactory progress in the program may enable you to renew funding for three years beyond the initial year.
