Keane receives Kenneth J. Arrow Award

  Michael Keane, distinguished research professor of economics at the W. P. Carey School of Business at ASU, accepted the Ken Arrow Award, named for a Nobel Laureate, with two colleagues in Beijing this month. They were honored by the International Health Economics Association for writing the best health economics paper of 2008. <more>

Roger Faith inducted into the Faculty Hall of Fame

 

The Faculty Hall of Fame was established in 1977 to recognize retired and semi-retired faculty members who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of business education and the W. P. Carey School.

 

This posthumous award recognizes Faith’s more than 20 years of outstanding teaching, mentoring and research, and his national reputation as a leading scholar in public choice economics. His broad mastery of many areas in economics allowed him to teach the widest range of coursework in the department. An outstanding mentor, he chaired numerous committees for graduate thesis work and freely offered his wisdom and guidance.


Rogerson named ASU Regents' Professor

  Richard Rogerson, Rondthaler Professor in Economics, has been named to the University's most prestigious ranks as ASU Regents' Professor for 2007.  Regents' Professors stand out for their exceptional achievements in research and international distinction in their fields. They serve as advisers to the University president and take on a broader role as consultants and scholars throughout the University.


Edward C. Prescott awarded 2004 Nobel Prize in Economics

  Edward C. Prescott, the W. P. Carey Chair in Economics in the W. P. Carey School of Business and a senior monetary advisor at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank, has been awarded the 2004 Nobel Prize in economic sciences, the first-ever Nobel Prize received by an Arizona State University scholar. Prescott was lauded for a lifetime of original thinking that has addressed some of the most important long-standing questions in macroeconomics. He shares the prize with Finn Kydland of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. [Full Announcement]


Rogerson and Keane elected Fellows of the Econometric Society

Richard Rogerson and Michael Keane, ASU Goldwater Chair 2003-2005, ASU Research Fellow 2005-present, were elected as Fellows of the Econometric Society.
