Michael Melvin is Professor of Economics at Arizona State University. He also serves as the co-editor of the Journal of International Money and Finance. Dr. Melvin received his Ph.D. from UCLA and has served as a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund and the International Finance Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He has been a Visiting Professor of Finance at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, the Pacific-Asian Management Institute at the University of Hawaii and the University of Frankfurt (where he was also a Fulbright Seminar Scholar). He has been a Visiting Professor of Economics at the Andersen Graduate School of Management at UCLA and the University of California at San Diego.
In 2000, Professor Melvin was named Dean's Council of 100 Distinguished Scholar, the highest award in the College of Business for scholarship accomplishments in both research and teaching.
Dr. Melvin's teaching and research interests are in the area of international finance. His current research projects involve the microstructure of the foreign exchange market and international equity markets.
