Each year the W. P. Carey School Dean's Council of 100 honors a business leader whose contribution is recognized as significant, whose inspired management has created and sustained superior organizational performance and whose presence exemplifies a model for future business leaders.

2011 Honoree

Dr. Irwin Jacobs is co-founder of Qualcomm Incorporated, the pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology. Today, CDMA and its core principles provide the backbone for wireless communication to which Qualcomm plays a central role around the world. Qualcomm has an extensive portfolio of United States and foreign patents and is the most widely and extensively licensed portfolio in the industry with over 195 licensees.
