With a degree in accounting your career choices are limitless. You can choose to work in assurance, consulting, corporate accounting/finance, financial analysis/venture capital, financial planning, non-for-profit/government or tax consulting services.
Accountancy at W. P. Carey
The accounting program at the W.P. Carey School of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. It is consistently ranked among the top public programs in the nation.
The undergraduate program begins with ACC 194 - Leadership, Ethics, Accountability & Professionalism (LEAP). LEAP will provide you with tools and resources to help you achieve a successful transition from high school to college, and ultimately to your career. You and your peer freshman accounting majors will also begin the process of networking as each Friday afternoon for your first two months at ASU you meet with representatives of major accounting firms to discuss a specific element of the LEAP program.
Following your first semester you will begin a series of accounting and other courses to help you succeed in accounting, including oral and written communication, analytical competencies, teaming and working in diverse groups and interpersonal and critical thinking. In addition, the undergraduate accounting major includes courses in computer information systems developed specifically for accounting majors.

Accounting is the study of how businesses track their income and assets over time, yet accounting has transformed in recent years to become more than simply recording financial data. Accountants hold a range of job titles and engage in a wide variety of activities including computing costs and efficiency gains from new technologies, creating strategies for mergers and acquisitions, quality management, developing and using information systems to track financial performance, tax strategy, and benefits management.
