Accounting Scholars Program

The School of Accountancy is currently accepting applications for fall 2012 admission to the Accounting Scholars Program (ASP).

The Accounting Scholars Program, an integrated, 5-year undergraduate-graduate degree program is specifically designed for SOA Accountancy majors who have completed a minimum of 72 credit hours of coursework, applicable to an ASU BS in Accountancy. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.50 (4.00 scale) in their accounting courses and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 (4.00 scale) at the time of application. These 72 hours must include a minimum of 6 hours of upper division (300 level & higher)  accounting courses within the accounting major and must be taken in the School of Accountancy in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Students, who wish to apply, should meet the above mentioned criteria by the end of fall 2011 and be on track to graduate no later than summer 2013. Students on track for fall 2012 admission to the ASP program should be taking ACC 440 this semester and should register for ACC 350 and ACC 430 in spring 2012. (Please refer to the Accountancy major map at: https://webapp4.asu.edu/programs/t5/roadmaps/ASU00/BAACCBS/2011). Students who meet these criteria, are encouraged to apply now. The ASP application will be available October 1st and may be found at: http://wpcarey.asu.edu/accounting/undergraduate/scholars.cfm . The deadline for the application is February 1, 2012. All application materials must be submitted by this date.

International students are welcome to apply to the Accounting Scholars Program, however, students should be aware that they may face unique challenges regarding the winter internship.  A limited number of visas are issued each year, limiting the number of internship positions available to international students. However, international students are encouraged to participate in the fall interview process.   International students, who secure a winter internship, may use Curricular Practical Training (CPT): http://global.asu.edu/isso/cpt.  International students, admitted to ASP, who are not able to secure an internship, are  eligible for the other benefits the ASP program provides.
