MTax/Master of Legal Studies
The MTax/Master of Legal Studies (MTax/MLS) program is offered through ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. The dual degree will allow you to work in areas where business and law intersect and earn two degrees in less time than pursuing them separately.
Coursework
The MTax/MLS dual degree begins in August and concludes the following December. A total of 48 hours of coursework are required to complete the dual degree, and classes are scheduled throughout the day for both degrees.
- First Quarter (Session A): MTax courses
- Second Quarter (Session B): MTax courses
- Third Quarter (Session A): MTax courses
- Fourth Quarter ( Session B): MTax courses
- Second semester: Two MLS courses
- Summer: One MLS course is required
- Third semester: MLS courses
How to Apply
You must complete application requirements for both programs; select the concurrent degree option when applying.
Each program maintains separate application deadlines and makes independent decisions about admissions; however, you may indicate that you have applied or have been admitted to either program as you complete your applications.
- GMAT or TOEFL scores must be submitted to satisfy admission requirements to the MACC program.
- MLS applications do not require GMAT, LSAT, or GRE scores, but may require additional supplemental items.
- Official transcripts and letters of recommendation must be sent to ASU Graduate Admissions. Each program may have different requirements regarding supplemental documents.
- Each program maintains separate deadlines. You must be admitted to both programs and each school's office of admissions will render independent decisions.
- Tuition and program fees for each year of the program are in accordance with prevailing rates set by each school and the board of regents.
MTax applicants are automatically considered for School of Accountancy Graduate Scholarships at the time they apply. No additional scholarship application is required if you apply by March 1st.
