How does your Accountancy program compare with other institutions' programs? The Accountancy program at Arizona State University has long been recognized as one of the finest programs in the country. The program provides students with hands-on exposure to real world business processes and strategies. The program is technology rich using the most up-to-date e-business software from major vendors with emphasis on faculty supervised team projects. The accounting faculty are nationally reputed leaders in their respective fields. Currently our accountancy program is ranked 11th among public programs by the Public Accounting Report. U.S. News and World Report also ranks the ASU accountancy program among the nation's top 10 public institutions. What are my chances in being admitted to the Professional Program? Accountancy is currently one of the most competitive majors in the W. P. Carey School of Business. Applicants are reviewed using a portfolio approach. Among the factors considered are: cumulative GPA, skill course GPA, transfer GPA and institution (if applicable), work experience, demonstrated community involvement and leadership skills, and responses to questions located in the professional program application. Can I take ACC 230 and ACC 240 at different institutions? Because ACC 230 and ACC 240 are taught in a unique manner, it is necessary for you to take the courses at the same institution. This means that both should be taken at ASU or both should be taken at the community colleges. If your courses are from outside of Maricopa County, you will need to have them evaluated by an academic advisor. Back to top Who do I go to for advising? As a transfer student, do I need to be admitted to the University before I can apply to the Professional Program? In order for you to be considered for admission to the Professional Program, you need to be admitted to the University for the semester of which you are applying for admission to the program.
