What are the most important factors in admission?
We use a portfolio approach to evaluating each application. The GPA and GMAT are heavily weighted, as are the letters of recommendation, your personal statement, and any practical work experience. Preference is given to those with accounting or business backgrounds.

Will my application be considered if I don’t have an undergraduate accounting or business degree?
You may still be admitted even if your undergraduate degree is not in accounting or business. However, we do give preference in admission first to applicants with degrees in accounting and business, particularly graduates of the School's own programs. Non-business candidates with at least two years of full-time work experience may want to consider the MBA/MACC dual degree program. In just two years, you earn both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy . Please refer to the W. P. Carey MBA for more details.

Is there a separate application for the School of Accountancy?
No; you must file an application to the ASU Division of Graduate Studies via the web (http://www.asu.edu/gradapp) and also submit a "candidate-managed" application packet (see Application Process for complete details) . Both your online application and candidate-managed application packet must be received by March 1.
