On April 24, 1997, the Arizona Board of Regents approved a differential fee for professional master's degrees in the W. P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University Main campus. The fee is used to offset the higher cost of maintaining state-of-the-art, high-quality graduate programs in a top-ranked school of business, and contributes to: - improving classroom technology;
- increasing scholarship support;
- expanding faculty development;
- expanding facilities for team-based learning;
- updating course content and pedagogical technology;
- increasing student and faculty access to current business information;
- increasing the amount of financial aid available;
- augmenting the faculty in key disciplines; and
- increasing support for marketing initiatives.

Students interested in a graduate assistantship with the School of Accountancy must submit an application. It is recommended that you submit the assistantship application along with your other application materials. If you are interested in opportunities in other departments, you must separately submit assistantship applications to each department.

Graduate assistants receive a partial reduction of in-state tuition and a modest stipend based on the number of hours per week required of the position. Stipends range from $4500-$5,900 per year, disbursed in a paycheck every two weeks. Non-resident graduate assistants also receive a waiver of the out-of-state portion of your tuition.

Typically, the School seeks candidates with a background in accounting to assist in our teaching and research efforts. International applicants interested in teaching assistantships must score a minimum of 55 on the Test of Spoken English (TSE) or ASU SPEAK Test.
