Accounting Scholars Program
The School of Accountancy (SOA) is pleased to announce the introduction of the “Accounting Scholars Program” commencing Fall 2010. This integrated Undergraduate-Graduate Degree Program will begin accepting applications in Fall 2009 from SOA Accountancy Majors who have completed a minimum of 72 credit hours of coursework applicable to an ASU BS in Accountancy degree program with a minimum GPA of 3.50 (4.00 scale) in their accounting courses and a minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.50 (4.00 scale) at the time of application. These 72 hours must include a minimum of 6 hours of accounting courses* within the accounting major (that is, courses at the 300 or higher level) taken in the School of Accountancy within the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.
* Note: Students completing 6 hours of upper division Accounting by the end of Summer 2010 and are completing undergraduate degree requirements no later than Summer 2011, are eligible to apply now for Fall 2010 admission to the Accounting Scholars Program.
This program is designed for students who desire a professional accounting career. Completion of this program will fulfill the State of Arizona’s requirements to take the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination and to obtain a CPA license.
Some of the key benefits of the Accounting Scholars Program are as follows:
- Eligibility for 8-Week Spring Internships in the senior year (6 credit hours)
- Eligibility for scholarships specifically dedicated to this program
- Opportunity for Teaching Assistantships
- Early commitment (junior year) of admission to the Masters Program
- Masters Program application fee waived
- Masters Program matriculation fee waived
- Accounting Elective offered in the senior year
- No GMAT requirement

To apply for program cycle beginning Fall 2010:
Complete the online application along with the required application materials, which include: three short essays, two letters of recommendation, at least one from a School of Accountancy faculty member, and an up-to-date resume. Sealed letters of recommendation maybe be hand carried to BA 223Q or sent to:
