Good dialogues start with good questions, and the key is to
understand your problems and best determine who
has the knowledge to engage them.*
The 2009 Business Intelligence Congress provides a first-of-its-kind collaborative opportunity! Join academic professionals and industry representatives who share a common passion for research and education innovation in the field of business intelligence. In the spirit of open innovation - learn from, contribute your knowledge to, and brainstorm with the key industry and academic movers and shakers in BI!
Why: BI matters. Even in today's tough economic climate, IDC forecasts 3.45% growth for the $23 billion market for BI software in 2009, and they expect 2% growth in the $45 billion BI consulting business [Business Week, April 27, 2009, p. 19]. The need for innovative BI research is increasingly important, and academic contributors can provide rigorous theory-based methods and design sciences to advance the field - while industry counterparts can actively help to steer academic research directions to address the most significant challenges. Similarly, BI educators need opportunities to share best practices with their colleagues, and being able to capture and reflect relevant industry insights will ensure a well-prepared next generation of BI analysts.
What & When: Plan to attend and be a part of this unique event. You are invited to submit a paper for our research and/or education tracks. Or you can come to check out the joint industry and educator panels we have planned. Hear from keynote speakers who are inspiring this new field. We've organized an intimate evening to get acquainted followed by a day of presentations and discussions that you won't soon forget. Be sure to mark your calendar for the social on the evening of December 14th and a full day of presentations, keynotes and panels on December 15th. See you in Phoenix!
